Gorkana Insight & Analysis Team
Yellow Jersey PR has recruited journalist Richard Wachman, former City Editor of The Observer for 11 years, as a consultant.

Richard joins the firm, headed by Dominic Barretto, in September. He is an experienced financial and business journalist and has also reported for The Guardian, Sunday Business and the London Evening Standard.
Richard started his professional life as a general news reporter, with positions on independent local radio and BBC Radio 4 where he was a producer for the daily consumer affairs programme, ‘You and Yours’. He made the switch into financial journalism in the 1990’s, covering London's stock market, focussing recently on mining, financial services, property, retail, leisure and industrials. He has also written for the legal and accountancy press. He was named Reporter of the Year in 2007 and has also been nominated as Business Journalist of the Year by Press Gazette.
Richard will be working alongside the Yellow Jerey team which comprises Philip Ranger, former head of communications for Collins Stewart Hawkpoint and HIT Entertainment plc, Harry Fielder who formerly managed blue chip accounts including Glencore and Xstrata, copywriter and branding specialist Anne Consedine and managing director Dominic Barretto.
“We have publicly stated our view that the financial PR model is broken in its current form," explained Dominic. "We feel that there remains a gap for those agencies that have historically and primarily focused on business media relations - versus the ‘all singing, all dancing, we can do everything’ approach. The market place has changed, and as the Broking community moves back towards focusing on IR and day to day analyst relations, we feel our media expertise can fully complement, rather than overlap or conflict.
“To achieve a lead in the market, we need our agency to bring clients an external and unique perspective, in a credible way. The appointment of talent like Richard Wachman, a multi award winning City & Business journalist, is a sign of commitment from Yellow Jersey that it will continue to do just that.”
“I look forward to joining Yellow Jersey which has an expanding roster of clients and where there is tremendous potential to grow the business, despite these straitened times,” added Richard.
