Bite Communications has appointed New Media Age editor Justin Pearse to the new role of head of innovation to further boost its specialist services capabilities.

Justin has been briefed to use his knowledge of the media sector to help clients understand and benefit from its changes.
Kath Pooley, MD at Bite Europe, said: "Justin's experience will help in two ways. Playing a key consultancy role in helping clients change the way they communicate and ensuring Bite itself stays one step ahead in the services it delivers.
"He will join our senior team in a new role created specifically to help us build new offerings and reach our network in a booming sector. This is another milestone in the company's transformation towards delivering truly integrated digital comms and marketing services and is a fantastic hire for us."
Justin said: "I can't wait to join Bite. Communications is changing dramatically as a discipline, driven by digital media, and Bite is at the forefront of that change. Its senior staff and fantastic client roster make it the perfect next step after 15 years covering digital media marketing and technology as a journalist."
Justin was at Media age for 12 years, where he became a leading watcher of the rapid changes affecting the digital economy. During that time, he oversaw its move to become a digital-only publication with paywall-protected content.
The appointment is the latest of hires Bite has made from journalism and plans to continue its strategy of recruiting high-profile specialists in their fields.
