Plant sensor brief for Dynamo
3 July 2012

Dynamo has been brought in by Swiss-based interactive plant care company Koubachi to launch a new sensor that tells plant owners when their plants need to be watered or moved.

Dynamo has been briefed to promote Koubachi's Wi-Fi Plant Sensor and apps to English-speaking markets and will focus on international media relations, social media management and pay-per-click/SEO campaigns for the company.

The team will report to David Kurmann, marketing director for Koubachi.

Peter Bowles, creative MD at Dynamo, said: "Those with green fingers like Prince Charles have talked for years about the benefits of talking to their plants, so they’re in for a surprise – with this new smart technology from Koubachi, now your plants can talk back to you.

"The market for the 'internet of things' represents a huge opportunity for us. IDG estimates that the market could be worth more than £2bn in five years, and we're already seeing incredible innovation with devices like Koubachi, the Pebble Watch and the Nike FuelBand coming out this year."

In other agency news, the team has appointed Martin Coul, who runs The Coul Room in Lausanne, to head up Swiss and German account management and business development as part of the Dynamo team. He will also work on the Koubachi account.

Paul Cockerton, co-founder of Dynamo, said: "Martin is a well-known, highly regarded expert in the mobile and technology sector, most recently setting up Mobicamp, Switzerland’s first mobile focused start-up conference, in association with the Swiss Commission for Technology and Innovation."
