Adam Ant appoints The Cult
3 August 2012

Iconic 80s pop star Adam Ant has appointed The Cult PR ahead of his first album release in 17 years.

The lead singer of Adam and the Ants was responsible for 'Antmania' sweeping the nation in the 80s with hits including Stand and Deliver and Prince Charming. The group has 10 UK top 10 hits, including three number ones, and Ant became a figurehead for the new romantic movement in the UK.

After overcoming a well-documented battle with depression and bi-polar disorder he is releasing his new album, Adam Ant is The Blueblack Hussar In Marrying The Gunner's Daughter, in October, along with his first single in 17 years, Cool Zombie.

The release is supported by new movie, The Blueblack Hussar, produced by The Klaxons bassist Jamie Reynolds.

Ant will also perform at a series of festivals including Bestival and the Summer Sundae Weekender, before embarking on a sell-out tour of the UK and north America as part of Adam Ant and The Good, the Mad and the Lovely Posse.

The Cult will manage the print, TV and radio campaign for his comeback.

The Cult partner Matt Glass said: "Adam Ant is a hugely iconic and much-loved British musician, and we're incredibly excited to be representing him.

"We're looking forward to introducing him to a new generation of music fans, to add to the legions of die-hard supporters he has kept since the 80s."

Ant is one of the few British artists who have managed to replicate their success in the US, with a string of best-selling albums and three top 20 hits on the Billboard Top 100.
