gorkana helps journalists and PRs work more effectively and build better relationships.

gorkana was founded by two financial PRs who'd run out of patience with the existing resources for managing relationships with the media.

Too many cold trails. Too many journalists getting calls on subjects they no longer wrote about. Too many hours spent manually creating media contacts lists.

Alex Northcott and Michael Webster knew there had to be a better way. So, in July 2003, they launched gorkana.

"We aim to ease the often adversarial relationship between PRs and the media with one based on trust and mutual benefit," says Alex Northcott.

"And because we know one of the biggest gripes on all sides is wasted time, information accuracy was, and still is, our number one priority."

As ex-PRs ourselves, we understand your business and recognise your needs. Nobody wants to spend their time on calls that lead nowhere.

So we provide a simple way to keep everybody happy. Our team of researchers spend their time calling journalists to verify their contact details. And because they recognise the value of what we're doing, journalists often contact us themselves to let us know when they're moving departments or jobs.

Because we know the journalists, we can maintain more accurate data, and that enables you to build better media relationships of your own.
